With today’s advancement in nanotechnology, biodegradable clay-polymer nanocomposite has emerged as a novel food packaging material due to its several benefits such as enhanced mechanical, thermal, and barrier properties. In line with the industrial focus on sustainability, materials from renewable resources are increasingly demanded and compatible processing routes can contribute toward overcoming the hurdles for scaling up this green material as an effective food packaging.
