Does the thought of French braiding your child’s hair make you feel like you need three more hands?

Weaving multiple sections of hair into a French braid might sound impossible, but we can help you learn how to master this look! In this video, we’ll share how to create a single French braid. Before you sit your child down to get started, you need to collect a few supplies:
Rubber bands
A comb or brush
Hair clip
Hairspray
Bobby pins

Once you have your supplies ready, prepare your child’s hair by combing out any tangles. To create a single French braid, start by gathering hair into three sections of equal size where you want to begin the braid. Next, cross the right section of hair over the middle section so that the right becomes the middle section.

Then, cross the left section over the middle, so that the left section is now the new middle piece of hair. Next, on the right-hand side gather a small piece of hair and add it to the right-hand section in your hand. Cross that over the middle strand and then repeat this process on the left-hand side.
Continue repeating step three until you reach the nape of the neck. You can either secure the braid with a rubber band here, or you can continue with a regular, three-strand braid down the length of your child’s hair before securing it with the rubber band.

Remember practice makes perfect, so don’t stress out if you don’t get it just right on the first try. Just keep working on it.
