His mission in life was one of high honor and prestige, and it was the most dangerous interaction with life to date. The task of the ASA Army Security Agency served the United States as the electronic intelligence branch. Their motto was” Vigilant Always”. In 1977 the USASA merged with the US Army Military Intelligence component to become the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). In comes ROTC-trained former retail management futurist, an army veteran, and an elite member of the ASA, now age 86. When Silverman completed his basic training of the Pershing Rifles precision Drill Team at the National Guards Facility where he developed and tested combat techniques for possible use by the Green Berets. Sargeant stripes on he became Company H. 3rd platoon acting Sergeant. His travel orders to Ft. Devens, MA Elint Training School landed him out of a group of 20 in Europe wherein Silverman became the only one that was sent to Germany. One day later and after a short interview. Silverman was sent to Berlin. After 60 years behind the curtain of silence, Silverman tells his story and lets the world know how his being a part of the best inter-intelligence communication force in the world transformed and altered his life for a lifetime.
