Since its launch last year, Apollo Federation has provided a more intuitive option for building distributed GraphQL architectures. Its declarative approach makes it possible to segment APIs sanely based on separation of concerns while simultaneously exposing a single data graph to clients without the trade-offs of a monolithic GraphQL server. In this talk, I will demonstrate how to get up and running with Apollo Federation in minutes and offer some considerations to keep in mind when transitioning to a distributed GraphQL architecture using this tool.
