Troops from the U.S. National Guard in #Idaho arrived at the Joint Base #Andrews in #Maryland on January 17, after being deployed to assist local authorities in the security preparations ahead of the inauguration of President Donald #Trump on January 20.
The troops were transported to the airbase with the help of the Kentucky Air National Guard and the West Virginia Air National Guard’s 167th Airlift Wing, the Idaho National Guard said.
The U.S. National Guard said in an earlier update that guardsmen from a number of states had been deployed to “provide support to federal and district authorities” in preparations for the ceremony.
According to news reports, Trump decided to move the #inauguration address indoors, to be held at the United States #Capitol Rotunda, as freezing temperatures were forecast for the U.S. capital.
