Here's the Jordanaires in 1956 on the Purina Grand Ole Opry TV show. The song "Love, Love, Love" had been made popular that year by the Clovers, an R & B vocal group out of Washington DC that had been recording for Atlantic Records. It's an interesting fact that the Clovers and the Jordanaires are both members of the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
Introduced by Carl Smith and with prominent piano by WSM staff pianist Marvin Hughes, the Jordanaires quartet romp through this song in under two minutes.
Left to right is Gordon Stoker on the high first tenor, Hoyt Hawkins on baritone, Neal Matthews Jr. with the second tenor and Hugh "Baby" Jarrett singing bass. Neal takes the first solo at 00:28 with Gordon off camera singing some fine do do do do's. Gordon takes the second solo at 00:55, with Hoyt chiming in at 00:59.
At 1:20 they all clap, leading into an interesting turnaround. Carl Smith leads the applause at the end with a shout out/back slap to Gordon.
