Sen. Robin Padilla asks NBI-BARMM chief Jeremy Lotoc about his knowledge of Islam

Описание: Sen. Robin Padilla questioned NBI-BARMM Regional Director Atty. Jeremy Lotoc about his knowledge of Islam during the fifth day of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial.

Padilla noted that Lotoc is assigned to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and asked whether he had at least a basic understanding of Islam.

Lotoc replied that he is a Christian and does not know everything about Islam, but explained that personnel may be assigned to any regional office regardless of their religious background.

Padilla responded that someone serving in BARMM should have at least a basic knowledge of Islam.

The exchange took place before the impeachment court took a 15-minute recess.
