The newly inaugurated Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram is now a major gateway for North Andhra, and its road connectivity is equally important for the future of Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram. The airport was inaugurated on August 1, 2026.

In this video, we take you to the NH16 Interchange and Airport Approach Road to show the latest construction status, connectivity, ground reality and remaining works.

A 950-metre four-lane trumpet road was being developed to connect NH16 directly with the airport, with authorities accelerating the work ahead of the airport's inauguration.

The broader airport connectivity plan also includes multiple priority roads from different parts of Visakhapatnam. VMRDA and GVMC have been developing and upgrading these roads to improve airport access and reduce pressure on NH16.
