Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and it serves as the country's economic, cultural and historic hub. There are 39 districts in Istanbul.
Ümraniye is a district located on the Asian side of Istanbul and is one of the city's most densely populated areas. It has a lively shopping and business core. It is bordered by Çekmeköy to the northeast, Sancaktepe to the east, Ataşehir to the south, Üsküdar to the west and Beykoz to the northwest. Ümraniye is on a main highway that leads to one of the two bridges linking the Asian and European sides of Istanbul.
