GROW LIKE CEDARS
“The righteous will … grow like a cedar of Lebanon.” (Psalm 92:12)

1. They grow to a height of 150 feet. The average width of a cedar tree is 30 feet! Its branches sprawl so widely that it is said that around five thousand people can sit under its shade!
2. The cedar tree emits a nice aroma. When the branches of the cedar trees rub with each other, they produce a sweet fragrance which revives and refreshes.

4. The cedar wood was used for cleansing in the Old Testament days.
In Leviticus 14:4, we read that when a person was healed of his infectious skin disease, leprosy, he had to go to the priest with two live clean birds, some cedar wood, scarlet yarn (Langdoi haengcringmei) and hyssop.
Scientists say that the cedar wood has the property of killing the germs and hence they were used as antiseptic agents in the early days.

5. The oil of cedar was used as a preservative. Of all the cedars on this earth, the cedars of Lebanon have much significance because they are called as the trees of the Lord. (Psalm 104:16)

PRAYER: Almighty God, may I be like cedar. Let me also propagate Your fragrance of love to others, let my words and deeds heal the wounds of suffering people, let me be the sapling planted by You for the display of Your splendor,.and draw them to the Calvary. Amen.
