Singapore Law Minister Edwin Tong says democracy is not broken, but failures in delivery must be fixed. He pointed to eroding trust in institutions worldwide, driven by abuses of power and misinformation. Speaking at a panel titled "Is Democracy in Trouble?” at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Thursday (Jan 22), Mr Tong said governments must engage citizens beyond elections through dialogue and participation - which is what Singapore strives to do.
