In 2026, Formula 1 power units will see a significant increase in electric power, with the MGU-K's capacity rising from 120kW to 350kW. This is a substantial boost, tripling the electric power available from the hybrid system. While the internal combustion engine's power will be reduced, the overall power output is expected to be higher due to the increased electrical contribution. Additionally, the amount of energy recovered under braking will double, reaching approximately 8.5 megajoules per lap.
