Claire explains anyone who has a judgment from the County Court and who wants to enforce that judgment and recover what they are owed, can use Shergroup’s transfer up solution. It’s funny that people see this as an automatic process where once you got your judgment you would automatically receive your money from the court. But it doesn’t work like that. So, this is the first reality check. The second reality check is who to use?
If you go to the County Court, they have a system where you use Warrant of Control using a County Court Bailiff. Here we advocate that you transfer your money judgment to the High Court and use our High Court Enforcement Officer to recover your money.
The question you’d have in mind is ‘Why would you do that?
Over the last 25 years, Claire and her team have pioneered the transfer of judgments from the County Court system to the High Court both in Claire’s role as an Under Sheriff, and then in her role as an Authorised High Court Enforcement Officer. It what in her role as a Solicitor that she dug into the Court Rules to find the transfer process buried deep in the County Court rules. Although the procedure was available 25 years ago, very few people used the transfer up process. Claire and her team breathed new life into the way CCJs, and Possession Orders could be transferred to the High Court, and the rest is Shergroup history.

What we established 25 years ago was a stumbling block to transfer County Court Judgments to the High Court. We set up a clearinghouse for judgments, we ask you to send us everything you got, and we'll do the paperwork.
It was a revolutionary process 25 years back and the law lords applauded Shergroup to embark on doing this paperwork. It was all about helping people use the High Court and not seeing it as a difficult forum to reach. If your judgment is over £600, you'd be able to use High Court.

We want a copy of the Judgment that you may receive from the County Court or Money Claims online. If you want to do it yourself you can by using Form N293A, you can fill in all the details and select your options and send them to us.
But only if you're sure you should do it otherwise, we will do it for you. If you do not tick the right boxes court will reject it and you can wait days to be able to start the process. If use our service we do fill out the form for you, tick the right boxes and get you the certificate.
