Описание: From planting exotic fruits to building a sustainable farming community ,Shihab our Farm consultant tells the story of a wonderful experience happened few days back in the Shoolagiri Farm .

We took care of many elements while designing the food forest in Shoolagiri village ,Tamilnadu according to the climate variations and altitude.
This place is situated at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level and definitely not a high range location .
So we tried to introduce all those crops that grow well in low chill climate to observe it’s production quality & quantity .
That’s how we planted different varieties of citrus fruits like Coorg orange , Nagpur orange , mosambies and more .

The Coorg orange has started to produce few fruits and this is a 4 year old Nagpur Orange tree.
Last year it produced only very few oranges and luckily this year it’s production got doubled upto 25 oranges .
Orange is not at all a commercial crop here , but according to the food forest that we design , atleast one good orange tree can be added to the list .
Just because it can produce upto 25 to 50 oranges on it’s 5th year, we can expect upto 100 oranges on the very next year onwards from a single tree without compromising it’s quality and delicious taste .

The sweetest taste and quality of each segments even in this moderate climate made me so much excited to take this quick video.
So let’s go for a small taste review about Nagpur orange .

In some cases , it can be little sour , thick outer skin & few segments inside normally .
But can’t ask more, this orange got most beautiful quality on it’s outer skin as well as the inner most part that made me wonder ! We haven’t used any much manure for the cultivation other than small quantity of organic matters .
It got very thin outer skin , sweetest segments with juicy flesh in it .
Usually we may not get this much quality oranges in the off-season, but I’m impressed with it’s super taste even in this time , where we got 2-3 days of heavy rainfall recently.
No much words to describe about this pure and sweetest happiness.
