SKETCHBOOK FURY - THE ART NINJA'S GUIDEBOOK - LESSON 2 OF 4
Your sketchbook is your training ground where you practice your moves - your idea garden.
Come along with us as Graham Smith shows you how to plant your ideas in your idea garden and let them grow.
He'll show you how to experiment, practice, record ideas and develop them. It's your rules & your ideas. You don't need to show anyone.
LESSON 2 of 4 - OVERCOME FEAR:
We'll look at how to overcome creative blocks AKA perfection paralysis or white page fever.
One of the biggest fears is not knowing what to draw. In this Graham gives a list of advice on what you could draw (people on the train, every fruit you ever ate, expressions your pet makes, etc). In general, DRAW THE WORLD AROUND YOU. The more you dive in and draw a subject, the more you understand it, and the less you fear about it.
Don't let perfection paralysis get you. Not everything needs to be perfect. Just start, keep practicing, draw something every day, and your drawings will vastly improve.
STRIVE FOR CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT, NOT PERFECTION.
