At this airport in China your face is your boarding pass.
At Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, you don’t need a ticket, a passport, or even your phone. You just scan your face and instantly a screen shows your name, your seat, and the exact directions to your boarding gate.
Seriously, it’s like Google Maps but for your flight and triggered by your face.
It’s called One ID and it uses advanced facial recognition to match your identity to your flight data across the airport.
You can check in
Drop your bags
Walk through security
And board your flight all just by looking at a camera
But there’s a catch
It only works for domestic travelers with a Chinese ID. If you’re a foreigner, you still have to do it the old school way using your passport and boarding pass.
