He observed that some parents now go as far as calling their children “Baba” or “Mum”, titles that reverse roles and blur the sacred boundaries of family authority. “When you call your little son ‘Baba’ or your small daughter ‘Mum,’” he said, “you are unknowingly surrendering your parental role. You are raising them without firmness, and they grow without understanding authority or respect.”
Archbishop Muheria urged parents to reclaim their God-given role as guides and moral anchors. True love, he reminded them, is not indulgence, but formation — shaping children to grow with strong values, humility, and responsibility.
He concluded, “Let us raise our children not to be fragile, but to be firm in faith, respectful, and grounded in truth. The world needs strong, well-formed hearts — and that begins at home.”
