The 2005 League Leaders shield is won at the JJB Stadium in this 2005 season of Super League.
It was the first St Helens win against Wigan in this stadium in 12 games but it came at a heavy price - both Sean Long and Lee Gimour left the field injured, both victims of foul play by Terry Newton who received a heavy punishment for these trangressions.
Neither Long or Gilmour would play in either of the play off losses against Bradford and Leeds and undoubtedly their abilities were missed in each of these matches.
