Now there are Internet. There are many books available on the Internet on Tantric practices, once was kept in a very secret manner. And there many Dharma instructors and Lamas who give out Tantric initiations and empowerment to the people who have not finished proper pre-liminaries practices.
These people talk about Dzogchen, Mahamudra, Tummo, Naropa, Niguma and so on. Yes, it may sound like a short-cut, sounds cool and makes people show-off about their practices. And yes, Preliminaries Practice (Ngondro) can be quite boring.
What should I do when I encounter with situation like this? What's the importance of Preliminaries practice and can we participate in such tantric initiations without completion of Preliminaries?
