Hi, I'm Marsha with Leave A Legacy, and I am here to help you determine the length of movie films. The first that you will want to do is to download our handy chart and print it out on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper. It will help you determine the length of your films, there is a link to that on the description below. The most common size is the 50 foot reel, it is often found in these little blue cases with the white reel on the inside. These are about three inches across and hold 50 feet of film. The next most common size is the 200 hundred foot reel and it is 5 inches across. This holds fifteen minutes of footage. The next size is the 400 foot reel, it is seven inches across and holds thirty minutes of video. The common thing on one of these reels is that you can see on one of the arms, there are demarkation of the footage. So, you can determine the length of your footage. So gather up all your films bring them into Leave A Legacy, and lets get them digitized!
