SAANICH - Your brain is arguably the most used and least understood organ in your body. It controls what we do, say, see, and what we think.
Each of our brains is wired a little bit differently and for children with significant learning challenges, that difference can make traditional education next to impossible.
Eaton Arrowsmith School in Saanich is designed to help those children, with the goal of eventually re-integrating them into the public school system.
The non-traditional curriculum focuses on retraining and rewiring the brain, using the principal of neuroplasticity. Students are given an individualized program and spend an average of three to four years at the school. It does not receive funding from the Government, and tuition is more than $26,000 a year.
