The Union education ministry has cancelled the UGC-NET 2024 examination, citing compromised integrity. The matter has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation for a thorough probe. The ministry has also sought a report from Bihar Police's Economic Offences Unit regarding alleged irregularities. This year, the UGC-NET was conducted in pen-and-paper mode on a single day, June 18, with 11 lakh students registered.
