Hello Everyone,
In this short I'm going through the process of removing the wet and rotten timber in the transom of my boat to allow me to perform a hull extension to repower the boat from a sterndrive to twin outboards.
The tools used were a circular saw, 125mm angle grinder with slotted diamond blade cutting disk, hammers and a pinch bar to pry the timber away from the fibreglass laminate.
I've already purchased a pair of Suzuki outboards which will need some modifications for this boat but that video will follow.
I'm also looking to install a Gyro stabilizer sometime in the future so I will need to make sure the Gyro bed is strong enough to handle the additional forces created, the design for this is being done by naval architects.
I hope to get this boat to the point where it will become a long range comfortable fishing platform for extended trips to the great barrier reef and to the Witsundays in the Queensland tropics close to the great barrier reef.
I hope you enjoy.
