The award-winning psycho-detective mystery adventure Urban Myth Dissolution Center is out now on iOS and Android as a premium $17.99 release, bringing developer Hakababunko and publisher Shueisha Games’ episodic urban-legend investigation to mobile with full touch support and the same content as the console/PC versions (which launched February 13, 2025 on PS5, Switch and Steam and cleared 100,000 units in ten days).
You play as Azami Fukurai, a rookie investigator at the titular Dissolution Center, a private outfit that handles cursed relics, dimensional anomalies and monstrous oddities tied to internet-age folklore. Azami’s hook is literal: her glasses let her see the residual memories of places, which you use to read a scene’s past, spot contradictions and push each case forward. She’s supervised by the wheelchair-bound Level S psychic Ayumu Meguriya, the center’s director, and works alongside the dry-witted, surprisingly capable part-timer Jasmine (Yasumi Tomarigi). Together you take on episodic cases—cursed objects, haunted apartments, otherworldly intrusions—each with a twist that “dissolves” the myth and exposes the human truth behind it.
Gameplay mixes visual-novel storytelling, point-and-click investigation and light puzzle-solving. You collect circumstantial evidence, scrape social-network posts, interrogate clients and witnesses, and use Azami’s vision to uncover what really happened. The writing leans into how rumors spread online and mutate into “truth,” and every resolution has unexpected consequences. The mobile build is a straight port—same scenario, graphics and systems—optimized for touch (tap to move, investigate, and navigate menus). It also adds a small mobile-only flourish: a Frame feature that lets you choose from four decorative borders (including a “Toshikai-kun” pattern) for the non-interactive areas of the screen.
Presentation is a big part of the appeal: striking psychedelic pixel art gives the paranormal a vivid, unsettling texture, backed by a 32-track OST from sound director Ada-P (plus a J-rap theme by MURASAKI performed by Kanna Katata). Language support is broad—English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Arabic and Hindi—and the premium model means no ads or IAP. Requirements are iOS 15.0+ or Android 13.0+; price is $17.99 (¥1,980 in Japan). The franchise has expanded beyond the game with a Manga Plus one-shot (Case File: Kune Kune) and art by Poppy’s Playtime illustrator Emi Ishikawa.
If you missed it on PC or console, the mobile version is a clean way to catch up: short play sessions fit the episodic structure, and the touch UI makes evidence-gathering and dialogue choices feel natural on a phone. It’s a thoughtful, story-first mystery that’s more about reading people and places than twitch puzzles—perfect for unraveling one urban legend at a time.
