The 25th of December 2024 marks 50 years since Cyclone Tracy hit Darwin. Cyclone Tracy is still one of Australia’s most devastating natural events and retains a place in the psyche of locals and survivors.
On Saturday 30 November 2024, City of Darwin and the Northern Territory Government hosted a free commemorative event to recognise the significant impact Cyclone Tracy had on the community. The event provided an opportunity for the community, visitors and survivors to connect, learn and commemorate.
