Описание: A major power shift is underway in Maharashtra politics just days after the death of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Sources say the Nationalist Congress Party is set to hand over both political and administrative reins to his wife, Sunetra Pawar.

A crucial high-level meeting is currently underway at Sharad Pawar’s residence in Baramati, where senior NCP leaders are discussing the transition plan. According to sources, Sunetra Pawar, a sitting Rajya Sabha MP, is expected to take oath as Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday around 5 pm.

Senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal has confirmed that a legislature party meeting has been called, where Sunetra Pawar will be formally named as the party’s leader. Bhujbal also said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured full cooperation and raised no objections to the timing of the oath-taking ceremony.

Even as Sunetra Pawar prepares for a larger role, sources indicate that Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth Pawar, could be accommodated with a Rajya Sabha seat, signalling continuity of the Pawar family’s influence within the party.

With key decisions expected soon, all eyes remain on Baramati and Mumbai as Maharashtra braces for a significant political transition.
