To our surprise, a young filly—still a foal—unexpectedly approached us, breaking the usual timid behavior of wild horses. Watch as this beautiful black filly, full of curiosity and friendliness, walks right up and interacts with us. It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment!

He explained that the filly and her mother may have been abandoned by a rancher who could no longer care for them. Towards the end, we also captured a herd crossing the road, led by the colt of the group. It’s a fascinating look at Nevada’s wild horses and the beautiful way they blend into the rugged landscape.

Why This Encounter Was Special: We’ve seen plenty of wild horses in Nevada, but this was the first time one came up so close without fear. We named the filly “11:11” because of the serendipitous time when we first spotted her and her herd.
