A video created by one of my climbing partners Colin Sander, using a mix of our footage from the climb.
In early Sept 2020, we did the bolt-Sill Palisade traverse, one of the jewels of alpine climbing in the Sierra. We started from the east side (Glacier Lodge TH) and camped near the Thunderbolt Moraine, and gained Thunderbolt Peak via the North Couloir (requires ice axe, crampons).
The traverse itself is one of the highest ridge traverses in the US and you summit a total of 5 of Cali's hardest 14,000' peaks. Its very complicated route finding, and you're on exposed 4th and 5th class terrain the whole time, typically unroped due to the speed at which you need to maintain pace.
