Its 2020 and here is an update on my TVS Apache RTR 200 so how does a 10W-40 grade engine oil performs in an TVS engine which recommends 10W-30 engine oil. The Castrol power1 racing 10W-40 is doing its job well in this engine to confirm things further the used oil from the engine was given for a lab test in an independent NABL, ICML approved lab. The lab test was divided in two parts where first was for engine oil analysis and the second one was on engine wear metal analysis.
In this video we have discussed about various properties of engine oil like Viscosity, Viscosity Index, TBN etc. In the later part wear metal analysis for this engine and oil was discussed which includes engine construction metals like iron, aluminum, chromium etc.
Use and purpose and presence of additives like Molybdenum, Zinc (ZDDP), Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorus in engine oil as additives are discussed in this video.
