►General advice for this dungeon
The dungeon quest "cold vengeance" is available from Latham right in front of the dungeon.
This dungeon has to be considered one of the more challenging. You face big groups of nasty foes from the far northern shiverpeaks and often aggro additional foes that pop up or patrol. Among the encounters in this dungeon are chromatic drakes, mandragors, stormcloud incubi, jotun, ice imps and avalanches. And on the later levels they are frequently supported by icy stalagmites to further trouble your party. Thus you should only enter this dungeon with a somewhat balanced, strong team, that's fierce against hex and condition pressure, single target spikes with enchantment removal and play a bit tactically to avoid unnessecary wipes caused by maelstrom.
It's possible to run minions in this dungeon even though there are several parties that do not leave fleshy corpses. The allied norn quickly die and leave corpses in each fight, so you can abuse them as material for your undead army.

The best general counter against all the malicious threats in this dungeon are domination magic mesmers. Chaos storm wreaks havoc upon ice stalagmites and the stationary wurms and drives away incubi which go into melee mode. Shatter hex and hex eater signet are ideal to deal with fevered dreams and wurm bile. Mistrust and cry of frustration take out a lot of dangerous damage spells found throughout the dungeon. Panic makes encounters against incubi easy to survive. If possible, bring three to four domination magic mesmers with you.

►The dungeon levels
1st level (00:01): This level is about avoiding overaggro. Right in the beginning you may clash with a party of chromatic drakes unprepared. When you proceed, a party of chromatic drakes and a couple of avalanches are patrolling and likely to attack your flanks. Look out for them. Apart from that there's no particularly difficult encounter.

2nd level (02:00): Fighting the stormcloud incubi requires a bit of preparation. They'll be visible when taking their position so you know where to expect them. Set up defensive spirits, keep your heroes flagged and lure the foes into them. If panic hits, you'll survive the encounter easily.

3rd level (05:25): Two wurm groups in the beginning; watch out for the first group of elementals and imps, it's scripted to attack you when you trigger the boss wurm group.
Later on there are some hidden stormcloud incubi ambushes. When you run into a large, unoccupied area prepare prots and panic to be ready for them.

4th level (14:05): Mandragors are this level's challenge. Clear the area of ice stalagmites so you don't suffer from spirits and focus dreamroot mandragors. They're their only threat.

5th level (21:25): Frostmaw and his spawns pose a weak boss encounter compared to the foes you had to fight to get here. Flag your heroes apart to avoid that a boss hits multiple characters with wurm bile (which would mean 80 damage per second party wide for up to 20 seconds) and you'll get through this easily.
