Journey Magazine presents, "Off the Record," a new segment showcasing up-and-coming FAMU and local artists, giving them a platform to introduce their talent to the world. The Tallahassee community is usually overlooked when discussing the music scene, oftentimes because it is mostly known as a college-town housing three universities. As the home to musical legend, T-Pain, and rising star, Real Boston Richey, there's no surprise what hidden talent the city has to offer.
Episode one features FAMU student artist, Samo, a third-year business administration student and rapper from Chicago, Illinois. After leaving his hometown, Samo needed to find an outlet to express all the lessons he'd learned so far in his "First Semester of Life." Although everything isn't always "Black & White," he was able to use music as a way to cope with all the experiences life has thrown his way thus far.
