What do you look for in your health care providers? According to the 2010 Medical Practice Pulse Report, just released by Press Ganey, more and more American's say bedside manner is most important.
The report includes the feedback of 2.7 million patients in more than 11,000 healthcare facilities throughout 2009. And, among its findings...
•The top-priority item regarding patient satisfaction was the sensitivity of the caregiver to patient needs, indicating the need for medical providers to personalize their interactions with every patient.
•The second priority item was the overall cheerfulness of the practice and its providers. This area includes both staff interactions with patients, as well as staff-to-staff interactions observable by patients.
