'Magaling makasipsip sa amo': Ang’s camp pins Patidongan in 'sabungeros' case | DZMM TeleRadyo

A lawyer of gaming tycoon Charlie “Atong” Ang denied Monday that his client is guilty of ordering the killings of dozens of cockfighting enthusiasts, saying everything was masterminded by Ang’s former aide - Julie “Dondon” Patidongan.

Speaking to DZMM, Atty. Gabriel Villareal confirmed Patidongan worked as security guard in one of Ang’s farms before rising through the ranks to become a close aide of the gaming tycoon in the last 16 years.

“Magaling ho ‘yan magtrabaho, magaling makasipsip sa amo. Napabilib niya si Mr. Ang. Nakarating ‘yan sa kataastaasan…Nagpakitang gilas,” he said.

He claimed that unbeknownst to Ang, Patidongan was doing all sorts of side businesses during the height of the e-sabong craze during COVID.

“Libre si Patidongan na gumawa ng paraan na magnegosyo sa ilalim ng organisasyon ni Mr. Ang,” he said.

He added: “Siya ang talagang nagpakana ng lahat ng iyan.”

The lawyer said Patidongan and his siblings were caught doing illegal activities last year, which is when he turned against his employer.

“Nung naramdaman niya na sumisikip na ang mundo niya, nginuso niya ang amo niya para madali siyang maka eskapo,” he said, adding he feels sorry for relatives of the missing sabungeros for falling for Patidongan’s ruse.

Patidongan earlier claimed Ang ordered the killings of up to 100 cockfighting aficionados and their bodies dumped in Taal Lake for allegedly cheating in e-sabong games.

He also claimed that a former actress, a former vice-mayor and members of the national police force are involved in the disappearances.

Ang is currently facing murder and serious illegal detention complaints before the Department of Justice.
