How To Size An Outrigger Canoe Paddle

Описание: I am 5’10” and I’ve been paddling outrigger canoe for 5 years. For the last year and a half I paddled OC6 and OC1 with at 51” hybrid OC6 / green logo Puakea paddle. Recently I cut this paddle down to 50” and use it for OC6 only. It is my paddle of choice for OC6.

I purchased Puakea’s OC1 paddle at 49” and really like it. However after using my wife’s 48” OC1 paddle I have decided this is the best length for me in the OC1. She was using the 48” for OC6 even though it is the yellow / OC1 blade.

The 48” length has been the for me in terms of speed, correct reach, and places the load on my core and does not stress my shoulders excessively.
