Описание: Two days after reports emerged that two Australian women cricketers were allegedly molested in Indore, Madhya Pradesh minister Kailash Vijayvargiya commented on the incident, advising international players to keep local authorities informed when stepping out of their accommodations.
“Players should inform the local administration and security personnel whenever they go out, as there is immense enthusiasm for cricketers in India,” Vijayvargiya told reporters.
He recalled a similar experience abroad, mentioning an incident where an English football player’s clothes were torn by fans in a hotel lobby in England. “Cricketers are widely admired. They must exercise caution when moving around in public,” he added.
Vijayvargiya said the episode should serve as a reminder for both players and authorities to strengthen coordination and security arrangements.
The alleged incident took place on Thursday morning when two Australian players, in Indore for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, were followed by a man on a motorcycle — one of them reportedly molested — while they were walking to a café on Khajrana Road.
