Camera captures moment lightning sparked brush fire in Phoenix

One of our cameras on South Mountain captured the moment on Aug. 31 when lightning sparked brush fires near radio and television transmitters on the mountain.
The lightning was part of a powerful monsoon storm that brought rain, as well as blowing dust, to the Phoenix area after dark.
The storm resulted in downed trees, power outages, and also delayed a football game at Arizona State University.
