It was a hot sunny day on June 21, 2025, a perfect day for the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern’s annual Iron Horse Rambles excursion from Nesquehoning to Tunkhannock and return.
Join me as we take a ride behind famed T1 Northern #2102 along the RBMNs Lehigh Division, running on the former tracks of the Central Railroad of New Jersey and Lehigh Valley, through the towns of White Haven, Mountain Top, Pittston, among others before arriving in Tunkhannock for their annual Founders Day Festival.
Making an appearance as well were two of the railroads SD50-2 locomotives, serving as helpers down the stiff grade past Mountain Top.
