Life was good for Rabbi Ben David. He was a leader in the Jewish community, a loving husband and father, and an accomplished distance runner with several marathons under his belt.
Then he noticed a lump on his neck, and within a few weeks it was official: Ben had cancer. Specifically, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.
Ben turned to the team at Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center to develop a treatment plan. At Penn, oncologist Daniel Landsburg, MD, recommended an intensive course of chemotherapy to kill the cancer.
Chemotherapy can be difficult, but with the help of Penn's doctors and Ben's family, friends, and community at Adath Emanu-El Synagogue, he stayed strong and ultimately ended up with a clean bill of health.
Ben is now cancer free and back to living his life to the fullest. He's a leader in the Jewish community, a dad to 3 young kids, and his outlook is brighter than ever.
