From the moment we arrived at Casas do Souto, we were greeted with warmth, stunning views, and a breakfast that felt like a dream. Their Michelin-star chef and welcoming team made us feel right at home.

Our adventure began with José, who guided us through the valley’s winding roads and hidden gems:
🍇 Quinta Das Arcas — a cozy wine estate where I tried the reddest wine I’ve ever seen (you’ll see my “vampire” moment!).
🍽️ Meal with Cátia — a full-course homemade feast paired perfectly with Douro wines. I even joined in the kitchen for a bit!
🍷 Quinta Seara D’Ordens — where oak barrels, old vines, and timeless flavor come together in one of the region’s most stunning cellars.

Then came one of my favorite parts: a boat cruise with Magnifico Douro Events, gliding between vineyards carved into the mountains, sipping wine, and enjoying pastéis de nata. The kids even took the wheel for a moment—they were thrilled.

We wrapped up the day with a sunset stop high above the valley, followed by peaceful family time at the pool the next morning before heading home.

This trip was everything I love about Portugal—great food, great wine, and genuine people. The Douro Valley truly has a magic of its own, and I can’t wait for you to experience it with us.
