It’s taper week before the Olympic combine (RBC Training Ground) — aka the week where I somehow train less but think about training way more.
Here’s what went down:
• Sprints that made me question if my legs were actually tapering or just rebelling 🏃♀️
• Gym sessions, jump rope, and runs that were “light” but still had me sweating like it was finals
• The highly scientific taper diet of: rice, potatoes, chicken, tuna, and… more rice 🍚🐟🍗🥔
• And of course, the classic taper brain spirals: “Am I fit enough? Should I nap? Was that cough an injury?”
Taper week is supposed to make you fresh for competition, but really it just turns every athlete into a part-time chef, part-time hypochondriac, and full-time overthinker.
