Será a igualdade de género um problema para apenas ser resolvido pelas mulheres? E quanto aos homens? Será que os homens não têm nada a ganhar com o envolvimento nesta causa? Nesta TEDx talk, Mónica Canário dá-nos a conhecer a sua história pessoal e, simultaneamente, apresenta-nos a importância de todas as pessoas, homens e mulheres, se dedicarem à luta pela igualdade de género.
Mónica Canário é coordenadora nacional do HeForShe em Portugal. Licenciada em Ciência Política pelo ISCTE_IUL e Mestre em Estudos Internacionais pela mesma instituição, é, atualmente, assistente de investigação no Centro de Estudos Internacionais (CEI-IUL). With a graduation in Political Sciences by the ISCTE-IUL, she is the Portuguese coordinator of the HeForShe movement, an initiative created by the UN Women in 2014, with the purpose of accelerating gender equality all over the world and to conscientize men to the importance of joining the debate.
At the moment, she is an investigative assistant in the CEI-IUL and is working on a PhD, concerning women empowerment in Morocco and Tunisia. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
