Описание: Big money bracket racing is sweeping across the country and Mike Archbold is bringing insane power and consistency to the track with his new M&M Race Cars dragster. The Melton family, which owns M&M Race Cars, is well versed in winning combinations thanks to multiple championships and victories. Their latest creation is this dragster and its supercharged small-block Chevy and it is destined for success as it laid down 1,612 hp and over 2,000 lb-ft of torque on FuelTech’s in-house Mainline Hub Dyno.

This combination is unique because you don’t often see a small-block Chevy with a rowdy 8-71 supercharger that is controlled by a FuelTech engine management system. A FT550 ECU is responsible for all of the engine tuning and bracket racing aids, holding up to its all-in-one bragging rights. Not only does the FT550 offer sequential injection and ignition, O2 closed loop, Data Logger, and Gear Control for auto-shifting, but it also includes a Delay Box. The all-inclusive setup allows the user ultimate control and analysis to make the right decisions when there is big money on the line.

The spark is handled by the highly capable FTSPARK-8 Gen I as it ignites the methanol fuel that is put under duress by the billet supercharger system. This year FuelTech replaced the Gen I unit with a more powerful FTSPARK-8 Gen II, which offers a guaranteed minimum of 750mj of energy at 140 amps and has been tested up to 850mj in certain applications. FuelTech tests every unit prior to boxing to ensure each one meets their output guarantee.

Another valuable tuning aid is the pair of WB-O2 Nano units that keep the driver informed with a digital feedback display. The air/fuel ratio is measured using Bosch LSU 4.2 sensors, which are mounted on each engine bank. The WB-O2 connects to all PowerFT engine management systems—as well as other ECUs and data logger systems—using a CAN connection. An added bonus, the WB-O2 does not occupy a valuable analog input channel. In addition to the WB-O2 data, the FT550 can record any sensor connected to the ECU; serving as a data logger and eliminating the need for a separate system. All of the engine and data logs are displayed in the FTManager software. FuelTech released its 4.6 software update, available to all FuelTech customers at no cost. The new software offers many new features as FuelTech engineers continue to evolve the product line and create solutions for its diverse customer base.
