El desarrollo de Meldrs estuvo lleno de pequeños hitos: aprendió a a mirar con atención su entorno y a imitar los comportamientos de sus progenitores. A sus 87 días, se ramificó, probando su fuerza y equilibrio, un paso decisivo hacia la independencia. Finalmente, con 90 días de vida, llegó el momento más esperado: su primer vuelo. Con un impulso de sus alas, Meldrs descubrió el mundo que la espera más allá del nido, comenzando a explorar su entorno y a probar sus habilidades como futura águila adulta
La supervivencia de los jóvenes de águila real es dura: solo entre un 40 y un 50% logra superar su primer año de vida. Es una etapa crítica, marcada por la inexperiencia en la caza, los peligros del entorno y las condiciones cambiantes de la naturaleza. Sin embargo, aquellos que logran superar este primer año aumentan significativamente sus posibilidades de llegar a la edad adulta, afrontando la vida con más fuerza y experiencia.
El nido, aunque ahora permanece vacío, conserva la memoria de toda la vida que lo llenó: la lucha diaria por cada presa, la protección frente a los peligros y el paso decisivo hacia la autonomía de un joven que hoy se aventura a surcar los cielos de Letonia. Por la envergadura que ha alcanzado Meldrs, todo apunta a que podría tratarse de una hembra, aunque sin una analítica genética no es posible afirmarlo con total seguridad.

Meldrs' nest is located in a swamp in Latvia's state forests, an isolated environment full of natural challenges. From birth, Meldrs was under the constant care of her parents, Spilve and Grizzle, who worked tirelessly to feed her, protect her, and teach her everything she needed to survive.
Meldrs' development was filled with small milestones: she learned to carefully observe her surroundings and imitate her parents' behaviors. At 87 days old, she branched out, testing her strength and balance, a decisive step toward independence. Finally, at 90 days old, the most anticipated moment arrived: her first flight. With a flick of her wings, Meldrs discovered the world beyond the nest, beginning to explore her surroundings and testing her skills as a future adult eagle.
Survival for young golden eagles is difficult: only 40 to 50% make it through their first year. It's a critical stage, marked by inexperience in hunting, the dangers of the environment, and the changing conditions of nature. However, those who manage to survive this first year significantly increase their chances of reaching adulthood, facing life with greater strength and experience.
The nest, although now empty, preserves the memory of the entire life that filled it: the daily fight for prey, protection from danger, and the decisive step toward independence for a young bird who today ventures to soar through the skies of Latvia. Given the size Meldrs has reached, everything points to the possibility of a female, although without genetic analysis, it's impossible to confirm this with complete certainty.
