Why did Bath Abbey need a fifteen year, £20m project? How has it helped to bridge the gap (and ease the tensions) between the Abbey as a parish church and the Abbey as a tourist destination – a Grade 1 gem in a bejewelled heritage crown?
Jeremy Key-Pugh will describe the Project in the context of the joys and challenges of managing the largest parish church in the diocese of Bath & Wells, and the different ups and downs of curating one of the most visited historic churches in Britain.
