Here's some amusing raw footage from the NBC News Channel of a game of soccer played by various mascots of TV advertising, among others, at the home stadium of the Portland Pride (an indoor soccer team that lasted from 1993 to 1997).
This clip was donated by Dave Lennie, who adds: "It was recorded at the station (WEEK Channel 8 in Peoria, IL) on SVHS, the WEEK newsroom’s poor choice of a format from 1994 to 2000 or so. I dubbed it to 3/4” and kept that tape. My job at the time was an engineer, which was mainly crewing the newscasts and running master control. This was taped off an evening NBC News feed to affiliates. On these feeds they sent anything down that might be of interest to the affiliates; that was one of NBC's always-on auxiliary satellite channels that was for this type of purpose. If I recall correctly, our sports guy aired a short piece of it that night (in Peoria) and I went back and copied off the whole clip. Looks like it's originally from KGW Channel 8 in Portland, OR. The way it goes to static at the end would lead me to believe that KGW's clip might have been even longer. Typically if an affiliate had something that might be of interest to the network or the other affiliates, NBC would buy a 5-minute window. The clip is about 4:30, so about 30 seconds' worth of dialing it in and "are you recording yet?" conversations. This was the national feed, but they also had several regional feeds so that if you're a station in the Midwest interested in stories that happen not too far away, there was a feed just for that so you didn't have to slog through one giant feed looking for stuff. These feeds sometimes had audio or even video of an NBC assignment editor talking to the affiliates about what would be on the feed, what they're still waiting on, etc."
Includes:
1 second of EIA color bars and tone (about 432 Hz)
Slate indicating: NBC NEWS CHANNEL - 8PM NATL - 8/30 - NA71 - MASCOT SOCCER - VO/NAT - KGW on top, and time code at bottom; followed by KGW countdown
Footage starts as the game among various mascots is underway; they are dressed in costumes resembling numerous characters seen on TV commercials including Charlie Tuna (Star-Kist), Twinkie the Kid, Tony the Tiger (Kellogg's Sugar Frosted Flakes), Mr. Peanut (Planters Peanuts), the Kool-Aid Man, a bottle of French's Mustard, Ernie the Keebler Elf, what looks like one of "The Three Little Pigs" from the 1933 Disney cartoon, a man in a Viking suit, a T-shirt wearing dinosaur, the Pillsbury Doughboy, a mouse, a chicken, a horse, a bear, what looks like Mr. Bubble, and a loaf of Wonder Bread.
After this, less than a second of Gaussian white noise is seen, picking up again with a very brief shot of the following graphic reading as follows:

This would have aired (with pertinent "humorous" commentary) on local Chicago TV (perhaps on Channel 5?) on Tuesday, August 30th 1994.
