The continued harassing by targeting the cannabis community as legalization via a federal mandate forms on the 2020 horizon calls into question how the final days of illegal weed will come down. Imagine being the last person arrested for weed prior to the end of cannabis prohibition. It creates a Mr. Irrellevant category similar to the final person drafted in an NFL draft.

It has been widely reported that the NYPD did a full-on Barney Fife, and, “They know they fucked up,” said Oren Levy, when his brother, Ronen Levy was detained for 36 hours. Court records show he was charged with six counts of marijuana possession. “They treated him like a criminal, they treated him like a piece of shit,” Oren Levy said, and they had nothing more than weeds similar to those in your backyard which are not hallucinogenic and primarily used like cooking oil in your kitchen cabinet.

“Both boxes contained paperwork explaining the shipper as a registered VT Cannabis Hemp grower,” said an officer’s report, “I advised the company that this does appear to be Legal Hemp and not Marijuana and the police were not going to seize it.”

But in fact, they did seize it, and it makes us ask the question - what will these law enforcement officers do - now that hippies can smoke weed legally? I imagine the police officers will spend more time on other more important offenders. These changes are coming, but not without a last dash effort to find scofflaws when there is really nothing there other than a lack of education from top to bottom in law enforcement, best to just let weed arrests stop altogether so you don’t embarrass yourselves unnecessarily.

Levy said the seizure of his product totals about $30,000. Since posting about the experience on Instagram and talking to media outlets, Levy said he’s received an outpouring of support and that he plans to take legal action against FedEx and the NYPD.
