It's not often I say it, but I really do feel blessed to be here in Chartres. This is the most amazing cathedral. I came here yesterday. It was pretty full of tourist. It's not that busy, but today I've just had it to myself and a couple other people. So, come early. That's my recommendation before 10:00. The cathedral is beautiful. It's one of the the the classic cathedrals in the world. It's been a site of pilgrimage since the medieval time. That's because apparently it's got a fragment of the um Virgin Mary's um clothing. It's called Notre Dame consequently and has lots of different architectural styles. And I love the the buttresses, the fine buttresses on the outside. The sculptures, some of which you can see behind me, are quite astonishing. But it's perhaps best known for its stained glass windows which are in shot blue. And that is the name which was given to the cafe where I've just had breakfast. I also ate there last night at Cafe Blur, which is just outside or so across the pedestrianized area from the cathedral. Beautiful restaurant, very friendly staff and the coffee was definitely what I needed before I go on my long journey down south to the do. I also had a drink last night in Cafe Serpente, which is even closer to the cathedral if that's possible than cafe blur. And I stayed last night in uh an old priory the hotel s eve which is 50 meters away from the cathedral. You you should be able to walk that one hopefully. It's a beautiful beautiful place. The priory is perhaps maybe the hotel is perhaps maybe um lacking in some sophistication TV sets or anything like that. But it gives you a sense of what life was like back in medieval times when um priests were here to to pray. Beautiful place shot. Really really love this place. It's it's amazing the antiquity and the charm and it's so so peaceful this morning. Sante to Chartres.
