Dr. Chenqi X began his independent research on T-cell immunity and immunotherapy at SIBCB in 2009. Dr. Xu is internationally recognized for his work on immunoreceptor signaling and engineering, especially TCR/CAR signaling and lipid regulation in T cells. His research, published in Nature, Cell, and other prestigious journals, has led to clinical trials for autoimmune diseases and cancer. He has received major honors including the 2024 National Natural Science Award, the 2023 Xplorer Prize, and the 2022 Chinese Biological Investigators Society Young Investigator Award.
