I’m proud that I stopped gambling: Sue's lived experience of recovery from gambling harms

Описание: Gambling addiction can affect anyone. Statistically, while men form a bigger share of those experiencing gambling harms, the amount of women struggling with the addiction has grown over the past few years. While there are many support services to help those who want to stop gambling, they can sometimes be places where women don’t feel entirely represented or understood. In this short awareness clip, Sue shares her lived experience of gambling addiction and how much it impacted her relationship and life, and how working to make a big change, stopping gambling, makes her feel proud today. Currently, Sue works at Betknowmore on the New Beginnings programme, a special service run by women, for women who are experiencing gambling harms.
At Betknowmore UK, we provide support to anyone aged 18 or over - including both individuals experiencing gambling harms and affected others. We also offer training for workplaces on preventing gambling harms affecting companies and employees alike.
