iPhone 13 Pro Max No Power after Back Glass Repair. How To Repair Cracked BBPMU!

Описание: This iPhone came into my shop after another repair shop completed a back glass repair. The phone came into their shop fully functional, but just had a cracked back glass. The other shop used a glass breaking tool to make the glass removal easier. Sadly, this resulted with a VDD MAIN Short within BBPMU, which caused it not to turn on anymore.

This video walks through the process of diagnosing the fault using a DC Power Supply to check current draw before prompt to boot. We found we had a 2.5A draw before prompt to boot.

I also show how to inject voltage into VDD MAIN using multimeter probes.
As well as how to measure for shorts using Diode Mode.

Once we found the issue, we used a heating platform to separate the 2 layer motherboard sandwich to find the Baseband PMU was cracked. This is fairly common on iPhone 12 and newer.

Using a grinding pen, I show how to grind away some of the underfilled IC chip, so it can easier to remove without disturbing the surrounding components.

Then we replace the BBPMU and now the phone boots up… but No Service/Baseband issue.

After I finished filming the video, I continued to work on this case & was able to fully fix the cellular issue & the customer got back a fully working iPhone 13 Pro Max with 5G full bars & everything functional.
